Solidarity with Japan: sanofi-aventis rallies its forces to help the victims

Following the unprecedented disaster that has struck Japan since March 11, 2011, sanofi-aventis is supporting the first-aid workers, doctors and nurses organized by the Japanese Red Cross to help the tens of thousands of victims.


Through the Sanofi Espoir Foundation, the Group will donate the exceptional sum of 1 million euros to support the efforts to help injured and displaced persons.

 


Concurrently, an appeal for generosity has been launched across all countries and affiliates, inviting employees who wish to join in this solidarity effort. All donations you make will be matched by the Group.


In this joint commitment of the Group and its employees, we wish to express our deep emotion and our full solidarity with the Japanese people, who have been so profoundly distressed by these recent event” Christopher A. Viehbacher, sanofi-aventis Chief Executive Officer, in a letter to each employee.


Sanofi-aventis has five sites in Japan, located: in Tokyo, Osaka and Kawagoe and 15 sales offices. To date, the 3,153 sanofi-aventis employees and their families are all safe and sound
