Launch of the third edition of ICRC Humanitarian Visa d'Or

For the third consecutive year, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), with the support of the Sanofi Espoir Foundation, is launching the third edition of the ICRC Humanitarian Visa d'Or award.

The call for applications for photojournalists wishing to compete for the third edition of the ICRC Humanitarian Visa d'Or is now open.

The competition is open to professional photographers who were able to capture on image the difficult question of respecting medical missions in armed conflicts and other violent situations.

Candidates have until June 5, 2013 to submit their file to the ICRC delegation in France.

The Jury composed of members of the press and humanitarian organizations, has made its decision, the ICRC Humanitarian Visa d'Or will be officially awarded in Perpignan on September 5 at the International Festival of Photojournalism, "Visa pour l'Image - Perpignan" which is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year.

The ICRC Humanitarian Visa d'Or comes with a prize of €8,000 thanks to the support of the Sanofi Espoir Foundation.
