Symposium about childhood cancer during the SIOP in Canada

During the 46th Congress of International Society of Paediatric Oncology (SIOP) in Toronto – Canada, the Sanofi Espoir Foundation organized a symposium dedicated to “Access to Quality Care and Support in Resource-Constrained Settings”, in partnership with SIOP and the International Confederation of Childhood Cancer Parents Organizations (ICCCPO).

About 150 experts, oncologists, nurses and parents’ associations participated to this symposium.

Two projects partnered by the Sanofi Espoir Foundation through its program “My Child Matters” were presented to illustrate good practices in this field :

The Sanofi Espoir Foundation also launched in partnership with SIOP, the first edition of “My Child Matters Awards” for paediatric oncology nurses, which aim to recognize the important role of nurses in the fight against childhood cancer in developing countries.

The Foundation fights against childhood cancers in developing countries with the “My Child Matters” program. Since 2006, this program has provided support to 45 projects in 33 countries, cares for more 40 000 children and trained 10 000 health professionals.
